How does the Hairlighter work?
The Sunne Hairlighter is a heat-activated lightening wand that gradually brightens your hair using sunlight or your styling tools. It gently lifts pigment to create natural, sun-kissed highlights. The effect builds with each use, allowing you to control your level of lightness.
Is the Hairlighter safe for coloured or treated hair?
Yes, the Hairlighter is enriched with argan oil, castor oil, and vitamin E to help nourish and protect your hair while it lightens. If your hair is freshly coloured, we recommend waiting at least one week before applying the product and performing a patch test first.
How quickly will I see results?
Results vary depending on your hair type and starting colour. Most people notice a visible brightening after 2–3 uses when activated with heat or sunlight. The effect is buildable - for a subtle glow, apply once a week; for a brighter look, use more frequently.
How do I use the Hairlighter?
1. Shake the bottle before use.
2. Apply to damp or dry hair wherever you want to lighten - framing pieces, ends, or all over.
3. Activate with sunlight or a heat tool such as a blow dryer or straightener.
4. Repeat over time to build your desired shade.
Can I use the Hairlighter in the sun and with styling tools?
Absolutely. The formula is designed to work with natural sunlight or styling heat - both activate the lightening process. Many users enjoy using it outdoors for a natural glow or during their regular blow-dry for quick results.
Will it make my hair feel dry or damaged?
The Hairlighter uses a gentle hydrogen peroxide formula to gradually lift colour, paired with nourishing oils and hydrating ingredients like argan oil, castor oil, and vitamin E to support softness and shine. As with any lightening product, some dryness can occur over time, so we recommend following with a hydrating hair mask or oil (coming soon from Sunne).
Is the Hairlighter suitable for all hair colours?
Yes - the Hairlighter is suitable for all hair colours, although the level of lightening will vary depending on your starting shade. On lighter hair, results appear faster and brighter, while darker hair tones may notice a subtle sun-kissed warmth that builds gradually with each use. Every application enhances your natural tones, leaving your hair glowing, healthy, and full of dimension.
Can I use the Hairlighter while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Our formula contains hydrogen peroxide, a common lightening agent used in hair products. We always recommend consulting your healthcare provider if you have any concerns before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
How long does one bottle last?
Each 20ml bottle lasts 10–15 uses, depending on how much hair you’re treating. It’s perfect for refreshing your highlights between salon visits or maintaining brightness year-round.
Is the Hairlighter tested on animals?
No. Sunne is proudly cruelty-free, and our products are never tested on animals.

The Hairlighter is proudly Australian-owned and made, created for women who want healthy, glowing strands without the salon fuss.
Where can I buy Sunne products in person?
At the moment, Sunne is available exclusively online - right here on our website.
We’re working on partnering with select salons and boutiques across Australia, so you can discover the Hairlighter in person soon.
Until then, ordering online is quick and easy - and every order comes directly from our studio in Victoria, packed with care and a little bit of sunshine.

Shipping
How long will it take for my order to arrive?
ll Sunne orders are packed with care in Victoria and shipped via Australia Post.
- Standard delivery: 3–7 business days within Australia, depending on your location.
- Express delivery: 1–3 business days to most metro areas.
We aim to have every order on its way within 1–2 business days, and you’ll receive tracking details as soon as it ships - so you can follow your parcel from our hands to yours.
How much is shipping?
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout, but here’s a quick guide:
- Standard shipping: $8.95
- Express shipping: $12.95
We also offer free standard shipping on all Australian orders over $70, because glowing hair deserves a little extra sunshine.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship to every corner of Australia and to our friends across the Tasman in New Zealand.
Do you ship worldwide?
Not just yet - but we’re working on it.
For now, we’re keeping it close to home in Australia and New Zealand, but international shipping is definitely on the horizon.

Do you offer express shipping?
Yes! If you’re eager to get your hands on your Hairlighter a little faster, choose Express Post at checkout. It’s a small upgrade that means your order will arrive within 1–3 business days to most metro areas.
My parcel hasn’t arrived - what should I do?
Once your order leaves our studio, it travels with Australia Post.
If your parcel seems delayed or missing:
- Check your tracking number in the shipping email.
- If there’s still no update after 10 business days, get in touch at hello@sunnehair.com.au.
We’ll help investigate with Australia Post and organise a replacement if needed.
What is the cut-off date for ordering before Christmas?
To make sure your gifts arrive on time for Christmas, please place your order by:

These dates are based on Australia Post’s holiday delivery timelines, and we’ll keep them updated each year to help you plan ahead.
Returns & Refunds
Can I return my order if I change my mind?
Because the Hairlighter is a personal-use product, we’re unable to accept returns for change of mind or opened items.
If you’re unsure whether it’s right for you, feel free to email us at hello@sunnehair.com.au before ordering - we’re happy to help with any questions.
What if my order arrives damaged or faulty?
If your order arrives damaged, leaking, or faulty, please email us at hello@sunnehair.com.au within 7 days of receiving it.
Include your order number and a clear photo of the issue, and we’ll arrange a replacement or refund straight away.
What if I received the wrong order?
Oh no - that’s on us!
If you received the wrong order, contact us within 7 days of delivery and we’ll make it right. We’ll send your correct order or provide a return label to fix things quickly.
How long do refunds take?
Once a refund is approved, it’s processed back to your original payment method.
Please allow 3–5 business days for it to appear in your account - this can vary depending on your bank.
Who pays for return shipping?
If your product is faulty or incorrect, Sunne will cover the cost of return postage.
For change-of-mind returns (if approved), the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
